Cleaning the canopy
- Brush off any loose dirt with a soft brush first.
- Scrub with mild soap and lukewarm water, using circular motions.
- Leave the solution on for about 20 minutes, then rinse with a hose.
- Don't use bleach-based detergents, as they can damage the fabric.
- Leave the canopy open until it's completely dry.
Caring for the timber pole
- Clean with mild detergent, water and a soft brush.
- Don't soak the timber, and let it air dry.
Opening and closing
- Open and close the umbrella smoothly. Don't force it if you feel resistance.
- When closing, pull the canopy clear of the ribs so it doesn't get trapped.
Storage
- Make sure the umbrella is completely dry before storing, to prevent mould and mildew.
- Store it in a dry spot, protected from wind, and keep it in its cover when not in use.
Wind
- Close the umbrella in strong or gusty winds.
Damage from misuse or strong winds isn't covered under the Silux 12 Month Warranty.
