Your cable ties fix your sign to traditional aluminium pool fencing without drilling. They are what keeps a compliance sign in place, so they are worth a check with each season.

What They Are For

• Silux cable ties are sized for traditional aluminium pool fencing, threading through the pre drilled holes in your sign.
• For glass pool fencing, use the Silux Heavy Duty Suction Caps. For Colorbond, timber or masonry, use the Silux Mounting Kit.

Fitting

• Thread through the pre drilled holes in your sign and tighten so the sign sits flush against the fence without flexing.
• Do not overtighten. A tie pulled hard against the sign puts stress on both.
• Use all four so the load is even across the sign.
• Trim the tails cleanly so nothing catches or hangs.

Seasonal Checks

• Sun exposure makes cable ties brittle over time.
• Check them at the start of each pool season and after storms.
• Look for ties that have gone chalky, discoloured or show fine cracks.
• Replace them at the first sign of any of that. Ties usually fail suddenly rather than stretching first, so a tie that looks tired should be replaced rather than watched.
• Keep a few spares on hand so a failed tie can be replaced the same day.

Cleaning

• Rinse with fresh water after chlorine or salt water exposure and wipe dry.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

Keeping Your Sign Compliant

• Your sign must stay securely fixed and clearly legible to do its job.
• Mount it where it can be read easily from the pool area, and where it does not obstruct a clear view of the water.
• Never mount a sign, or position anything used to mount it, in a way that could help a child climb the barrier.
• Positioning and compliance requirements vary by location. If you are unsure, check with your pool certifier or local authority.

Important Usage Notes

• Designed for mounting Silux signs to aluminium pool fencing. Use only for that purpose.
• Replace any tie that is brittle, cracked or discoloured rather than reusing it.
• Damage resulting from misuse, incorrect installation or unsuitable mounting surfaces will not be covered under the Silux Quality Guarantee.
• Dispose of all packaging thoughtfully and keep small parts and packaging out of reach of children.
